First, ensure that there are no mysqld processes running. ![]() This becomes a "chicken and egg" problem - you can't get into mysql to change the database and you can't connect until you've fixed the problem somehow.ฤก. Either the user's host entry doesn't match or there is no user entry for the user id and password you have entered. The error message "Access denied for implies that the user table in the mysql installation and database was not setup correctly. ![]() ![]() After much digging around, I have found the solution - and decided to post my findings.
